Carved about 1000 years ago, this scene represents one of the
best preserved petroglyphs from an agrarian society that lived in what is
now central Utah. The stylized human figures, possibly a family, the scorpion,
the turkey, the snake and the hunting scene dramatize a story whose precise
meaning died with that culture. |
