| Wending Canyon
Gushing waters from flash floods have cut this arch through sandstone
in this very narrow canyon in northern Arizona. This slot canyon, with its
sheer walls over 100 feet high and several drops of dozens of feet each,
takes hours to negotiate. The glowing colors on the rock walls are produced
from the differential absorption of light on the canyon walls. |
